Previously we learned about the various rules that are put into place when assigning oxidation numbers to the various atoms involved in oxidation-reduction reactions. Now let us look at the following nine examples in which we will follow those basic rules and assign oxidation numbers to the different atoms in compounds.

Ruby Vankins10/31/2015 | 11:39 AM
how do you know S is more important than Cu?
Anthony Toscano04/05/2015 | 11:01 PM
Wait a fucking second. the first example. I had put above the F3 a +1 because there are three atoms with one charge. which equals -3. am i wrong or what did i do wrong?
Grace Tideman06/10/2017 | 10:24 PM
You are correct if you meant -1 (oxidation state of F) over the F3 meaning an overall charge of -3. The -3 is just used for the purpose of balancing the charges.
asde fsaa03/02/2015 | 8:12 PM
how do you decide which is most important?
AK LECTURES03/02/2015 | 11:54 PM
+asde fsaa you have to follow a set of rules or guidelines. i talk about them in another lecture.
